Dr. Raja Rathinam is working as State Head for Reliance Dairy Food Ltd. Earlier, he was working as CEO at Mother Dairy Calcutta where he made the institution viable for which he has received Excellent Environmental Award from the Chief Minister of West Bengal.

Dr. Raja Rathinam after obtaining Graduation with First class from Madras University joined in Indian Dairy Diploma at National Dairy Research Institute, Bangalore and passed with first Class. Subsequently, he has completed M.Sc. in Dairy Microbiology and passed with Distinction. Further he has pursued for M.Sc. in Dairy Technology. He has been awarded Gold Medal, as he stood first in the University. He has also obtained M.A and A.I.C from Osmania University and Institution of Chemist, Calcutta. He has started Research work at National Institute of Nutrition, Hyderabad, further continued his research and obtained Ph.D. from Agra University. He has also done his advance courses and research activities in India and Abroad.

Combined with his academic attainments, he started his career as I/c Head at the Institute of Dairy Technology Kamareddy, affiliated to Osmania University. He has also served in the Industry including Tamil Nadu Dairy Development Corporation, Chennai and Pankaj Dairy Ltd., Bangalore. He made turnaround at Muzaffarpur Dairy as Managing Director in which he was instrumental to get National Productivity Award. He has also served in Barauni Dairy for which he has been honored with Governor's Award. He has also served with Asian Development Bank Project.

He is also recipient of Bhartiya Udyog Ratan Award, Science Day Award, Millennium Award, North Bihar Chamber of Commerce Award and Life Time Achievement Award. He also held various prestigious posts as Secretary General in Asia Dairy Pacific Association, Vice Chairman, IDA (Eastern Zone), Advisor Rotary International District 3290,Panel Member in Agricultural Commodity Committee, CII, Eastern Region, Staff Selection Committee Member in W.B. Univ. of Animal and Fisheries Science, Expert Member in Food Committee of Indian Chamber of Commerce, Kolkata, Board of Examiner in Jadavpur University and W.B. Univ. of Animal and Fisheries Science and Member in Society of IRMA. Invited to present papers in National, International and Inter Governmental Organisation.
