Deficiency of minerals in the ration of ruminants impairs metabolic functions, which affects the milk production and reproduction efficiency in adult animals and growth in young calves. Minerals play a greater role in normal body maintenance, growth, milk production and reproduction in farm animals. Thus, deficiency of minerals has a tremendous impact on both low production and reproductive failure and thus, scientific feeding of minerals in the ration of farm animal plays a crucial role in determining returns from investing in a livestock enterprise.
